The porosity of the transdisciplinary practice
is at the service of this project, with a
folkloric and resolutely punk feel. Mastiga e
Spüda features a giant turtle head from a
Bellinzona Carnival float, mocking a politician.
This head is activated by a performance
in which the artist declaims a long
prose mixing Ticinese dialect, French, English
and German to the rhythm of a bass
drum. Carnival and minority languages and
codes formulate a kind of political satire,
inviting us to reconsider established social
norms.
The performance and installation was presented at the Kiefer Hablitzel Preis 2025 at the Swiss Art Awards (Basel, ch).
